Visit to Shielow Wood

John Monaghan is lucky enough to own a forest and would love to have you visit for a day. Since taking control, John has been working to translate the forest into a mixed age woodland, with new planting aiming to increase diversity and ensure long term sustainability, and exploring how it might be commercially sustainable, in part to keep up with the phenomenal natural growth and reseeding of the trees.

Alongside the woodland, choice specimens have been planted to create an arboretum. There is a comfy cabin for lunch and the access roads are good.
